After 2 week o shutdown of kickass Torrents and arrest of its admin the worlds biggest BitTorrent search engine Torrentz.eu has also shut down its service. This surprise shutdown of Torrentz point he end of an era.
Torrentz.eu was not hosted by torrents of its own but it very powerful, fast, free and combined result of dozen of other torrent search engine sites including the kickass Torrents and Extra Torrent.
The meta search engine suddenly announced “Farewell” to its millions of users without much fanfare. The search engine suddenly disable its search functionality.
When user want to search something the Torrentz.eu webpage is displaying a message that is in past tense.
Message:
“Torrentz was a free, fast and powerful meta-search engine combining results from dozens of search engines.”
When user click any link on the site the search engine refresh and showing a message.
Message:
“Torrentz will always love you. Farewell.”
Launched back in 2003, Torrentz has amused the torrent community for over thirteen years with countless guests per day.
However, today, the popular meta-search engine has stop working its operation from all Torrentz domains, includingthe most .EU domain (both http and HTTPS version) as well as different backups like .ME, .CH, and .IN.
Although several copyright holders weren't proud of the site with each RIAA and MPAA have reported the site to the U.S. Government in recent years, says TorrentFreak, there's no news of any arrest or legal takedown of the site during this case.
Still, it'd be fair enough to wait for an official announcement from the site house owners.
